Iraqi Security Forces Seize 50 kg of Captagon and Arrest Suspected Drug Trafficker in Kurdistan Region

The General Directorate for Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances announced the arrest of a suspected drug trafficker and the seizure of 50 kilograms of Captagon pills during a joint security operation in the Kurdistan Region.

The directorate stated that the operation was carried out by anti-narcotics units in Nineveh in coordination with their counterparts in Sulaymaniyah. The operation resulted in the confiscation of the drugs and the arrest of a suspect allegedly involved in trafficking them.

It added that the operation was the outcome of joint security efforts and intelligence coordination between the two directorates, as part of ongoing measures to pursue drug traffickers and disrupt their criminal activities.
