Iraqi Intelligence Uncovers Fake Detergent Manufacturing Facility in Najaf

Iraq’s Federal Intelligence and Investigations Agency has arrested suspects operating a fake manufacturing facility in Najaf province and seized large quantities of counterfeit products bearing the names of well-known international brands.

The agency said the operation followed intelligence reports indicating that counterfeit detergent products were being manufactured and marketed under the trademarks of internationally recognized companies. A specialized team was subsequently formed under the supervision of the Deputy Minister for Intelligence and Federal Investigations.

Investigations and surveillance led security forces to a facility built on agricultural land, allegedly used to conceal its activities and evade detection by security authorities. A raid resulted in the seizure of equipment and materials used in the counterfeiting operation.

According to the agency, the suspects admitted purchasing raw materials, filling containers and packaging the products under the names of major international brands to generate illegal profits. The agency confirmed that the necessary investigative and judicial procedures have been initiated in accordance with the law.
