Iraq and UAE Seize 200,000 Captagon Pills and Arrest Suspects in Joint Operation

Iraq’s Ministry of Interior announced the seizure of 200,000 Captagon pills and the arrest of individuals involved in the case in the United Arab Emirates, following a joint security operation based on precise Iraqi intelligence.

In a statement, the ministry said the General Directorate for Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances coordinated with the UAE’s National Anti-Narcotics Authority to carry out the operation as part of ongoing efforts to combat cross-border drug trafficking networks.

The ministry explained that the operation followed the collection, analysis and exchange of intelligence with its Emirati counterpart. This cooperation enabled both sides to develop a joint security plan and monitor its implementation, ultimately leading to the seizure of the shipment and the arrest of the suspects.

The ministry stressed that the operation demonstrates the effectiveness of security and intelligence cooperation between the two countries, as well as the ability of specialized agencies to turn accurate intelligence into proactive measures against international drug trafficking networks and disrupt their activities before they reach their intended targets.
