Iraq Recovers More Than $1 Billion in Anti-Corruption Campaign

The Iraqi government has recovered funds, assets and properties worth more than $1.04 billion, equivalent to around 1.359 trillion Iraqi dinars, as part of the “Dawn Assault” anti-corruption campaign.

Government spokesperson Haider Al-Aboudi said the Integrity Commission had received more than 26,000 reports and complaints related to corruption cases, stressing that the government will continue its institutional reform efforts aimed at closing loopholes that facilitate corruption.

Al-Aboudi also highlighted the role of the Iraqi judiciary in supporting anti-corruption efforts and achieving the campaign’s objectives, while noting that the Prime Minister’s visit to the Integrity Commission reaffirmed the government’s full support for its work and procedures.
