Iraq Reaffirms Support for OIC and Calls for Unified Position

Iraqi Parliament Speaker Heibat Al-Halbousi reaffirmed Iraq’s support for the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Sunday, stressing the importance of unifying positions and strengthening coordination among member states to address ongoing crises and challenges.

According to a statement from the Speaker’s Media Office, Al-Halbousi received OIC Secretary-General Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed to discuss the organization’s programs and initiatives aimed at enhancing cooperation among its member states.

The meeting highlighted the OIC’s role in promoting Islamic solidarity, developing joint action mechanisms, and coordinating positions among Islamic countries on pressing regional and international issues.

Al-Halbousi reiterated Iraq’s commitment to supporting the organization, emphasizing the need for unified positions and intensified coordination to address current crises and developments.
