Iraq Opens New Investment Opportunities for Gulf and International Companies
The head of Iraq’s National Investment Commission, Adel Al-Yasiri, said on Monday that the country is witnessing rapid urban and economic development, creating promising investment opportunities for Gulf and international companies, particularly in the housing and industrial sectors.
In a statement, the commission said Al-Yasiri met with a high-level delegation from the Qatar Investment Authority on the sidelines of the World Investment Forum 2026 in Doha, Qatar. The meeting focused on expanding investment cooperation and strengthening economic partnerships between the two countries.
According to the statement, discussions covered recent developments in Iraq’s investment climate, as well as new incentives and facilities introduced by the Iraqi government to attract investors and major companies, particularly those operating in modern residential city development and industrial projects.
Al-Yasiri emphasized the government’s commitment to establishing a safe and attractive investment environment that supports project implementation and long-term sustainability. He noted that Iraq’s ongoing urban and economic transformation offers significant opportunities for Gulf and international investors.
The commission’s chairman also invited the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Qatari business leaders to visit Iraq and explore available investment opportunities firsthand, with the aim of strengthening economic ties and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.
