Rafidain Bank Expands Digital Lending Through SuperQi, Advancing Iraq’s Financial Transformation
The launch of electronic loan applications for employees and retirees through the SuperQi application marks another step toward modernizing Iraq’s banking sector and simplifying access to financial services.
The Iraqi Ministry of Finance announced that Rafidain Bank had completed the technical procedures and electronic integration required to provide the service. Applications are being accepted in batches of 5,000 requests each, covering civilian and military employees and retirees whose salaries are domiciled with the bank and who hold its eligible cards.
Under the new mechanism, the application link is temporarily closed once the allocated number of requests is reached. The bank then proceeds with administrative processing, verification and credit checks. Once applicants meet the lending requirements and their procedures are completed, loan amounts are deposited into their accounts successively on a daily basis.
The application link will reopen after the current batch has been processed, allowing another 5,000 applicants to submit their requests. The bank has clarified that temporary closures are part of the organizational process and do not mean the service has ended.
The move highlights the growing role of financial technology in reducing administrative burdens, saving customers time and effort, and expanding access to digital banking services. By shifting applications to an electronic platform, the bank aims to streamline procedures and improve the overall customer experience.
Rafidain Bank has also urged customers to use official application channels and avoid intermediaries who claim they can guarantee loan approval or accelerate processing in exchange for money. All applications remain subject to the bank’s established lending conditions and verification procedures.
The initiative represents a practical step toward broader financial inclusion and the digital transformation of Iraq’s public banking services. Its effectiveness will depend on efficient application processing, platform reliability, transparent lending requirements and secure handling of customer data.
