Al-Zaidi Visits Federal Integrity Commission, Calls for Stronger Anti-Corruption Measures

Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi stressed that the Federal Integrity Commission represents the first line of defense in the fight against corruption, emphasizing the need to expand its role beyond oversight to include preventive measures aimed at curbing corruption and dismantling its networks.

Al-Zaidi made the remarks during a visit to the commission’s headquarters on Saturday, where he met with its chairman and senior officials. He called for closer monitoring of government projects across provinces and ministries, with projects to be classified into large, medium and small categories to ensure more effective oversight.

He also called for activating the law providing rewards to corruption whistleblowers, intensifying monitoring at border crossings, and issuing monthly and quarterly reports to expose corruption cases and hold those responsible accountable
