Al-Araji and Holy Hussainiya Shrine Discuss Documenting ISIS and Al-Qaeda Crimes
Iraqi Prime Minister’s Security Adviser Qasim Al-Araji met with representatives of the Holy Hussainiya Shrine on Saturday to discuss the importance of documenting crimes committed by ISIS and Al-Qaeda and preserving records of their violations.
According to a statement from Al-Araji’s media office, he received Sheikh Ali Al-Qarawi, head of the shrine’s Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs, along with Khalil Al-Tayyar, adviser for foreign relations and public affairs.
The meeting addressed opportunities for intellectual and cultural cooperation aimed at strengthening national identity, promoting community peace and fostering social cohesion among Iraqis.
Both sides also emphasized the need to document the crimes committed by ISIS and Al-Qaeda, particularly as the Holy Hussainiya Shrine is working on compiling an encyclopedia dedicated to recording these crimes and preserving their historical details.
Al-Araji praised the shrine’s contributions to providing medical, scientific and cultural services to different segments of Iraqi society, noting their role in promoting solidarity, coexistence and a spirit of brotherhood across the country.
