Iraq Launches Urgent Review of Academic Certificates Held by Senior Government Officials
The Iraqi government has launched urgent procedures to verify the academic certificates of all officials occupying special-grade positions, as part of efforts to ensure the authenticity of educational documents included in the employment records of senior state officials.
According to information obtained, a Diwani Order was issued and urgently circulated to all ministries, authorities and independent entities, instructing them to complete the verification of primary, intermediate and preparatory school certificates belonging to officials covered by the directive, including advisers, deputy ministers and directors general.
The instructions also require the relevant institutions to obtain official confirmations from schools, institutes and educational establishments regarding the validity of the certificates, complete the verification process and submit supporting documents to the competent departments at the Ministry of Education as soon as possible.
The move forms part of a broader review of the employment records of senior officials, aimed at ensuring the authenticity of academic qualifications and compliance with the legal and administrative requirements for holding high-ranking positions in state institutions.
