Washington Approves $800 Million Military Helicopter Deal for Iraq

The United States has approved a potential deal to sell military helicopters to Iraq, with a total estimated value of around $800 million.

The U.S. State Department said the proposed sale falls under the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program, adding that Bell Textron will serve as the primary contractor for the deal.

The agreement would allow Iraq to acquire U.S.-made helicopters and related defense equipment, subject to the completion of the required review and approval procedures by the relevant U.S. authorities.
