US Congratulates Iraq on National Day, Reaffirms Support for Bilateral Partners

The United States on Saturday congratulated the Iraqi people on the occasion of Iraq’s National Day, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and supporting the country’s stability and sovereignty.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said in a statement marking Iraq’s National Day, observed on October 3, that Washington values the deep historical ties between the two countries and praised the strength of the Iraqi people and their achievements.

Rubio also highlighted Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi’s visit to Washington in July and his meeting with US President Donald Trump at the White House, saying the visit reflected the strong friendship between the two nations and their shared commitment to building a strong and prosperous future.

He added that the economic partnerships announced during the visit demonstrated significant opportunities for expanding trade and investment cooperation between Iraqi and American companies.

The US Secretary of State also welcomed Iraq’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its sovereignty and contribute to security and stability across the Middle East.

Iraq celebrates its National Day on October 3 each year, which is observed as an official public holiday across the country.
