Upcoming Package of Government Decisions: Comprehensive Amendments in the Oil, Customs, and Energy Sectors

mniraq - Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi chaired the regular session of the Council of Ministers, which resulted in a package of strategic decisions covering vital sectors. The decisions included adopting new mechanisms for purchasing and exporting crude oil with specific discounts, and studying the removal of subsidies on certain petroleum products, excluding basic ones. The council also approved recommendations to boost the electricity sector and develop border crossing infrastructure, alongside implementing an electronic payment system for customs duties starting early October to ensure transparency and flexibility in financial procedures.
