Two Filipino Sailors Killed in Attack on Oil Tanker in Strait of Hormuz
Saudi Arabia’s National Shipping Company announced on Wednesday that two Filipino sailors were killed after its oil tanker Sidr came under a security attack while transiting the Strait of Hormuz three days earlier.
In a statement, the company said the tanker was directly hit on the night of August 31 after being targeted by three unidentified projectiles while sailing through the Omani route of the strategic waterway.
The company said it remains in direct contact with the vessel’s crew and is coordinating closely with security partners and relevant authorities to monitor the situation and support maritime safety operations.
