Trump denies offering Iran a deal to end the war

U.S. President Donald Trump denied that Washington had offered Iran any proposal aimed at ending the war, rejecting media reports that he was prepared to ease sanctions on Tehran and release frozen Iranian funds in return for what were described as “concrete” steps regarding its nuclear program.

In a post on his Truth Social platform on Monday, Trump dismissed the reports as “not true,” stating: “I offered them nothing.”

Axios and CNN had earlier cited unnamed U.S. officials as saying that Trump was open to easing sanctions on Iran and releasing frozen Iranian assets as part of a final agreement, provided Tehran demonstrated “concrete progress” on the nuclear issue.

Trump said preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon was one of the main objectives of the war, alongside curbing its ability to attack neighboring countries and creating conditions that would allow Iranians to bring down the regime.
