Trump Confirms Strike on Iran’s Kharg Island, Says Facilities Were Destroyed

U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed that Kharg Island in Iran was targeted, saying the strikes destroyed facilities on the island and left parts of it in ruins.

Trump posted a simulated video on his Truth Social platform showing the latest U.S. strikes on the Iranian island, stating that the targeted facilities had been destroyed.

Meanwhile, U.S. Central Command said the strike carried out on Iran’s Larak Island was a precision operation targeting Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps forces involved in laying mines, which it said posed an imminent threat to navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

In a statement responding to what it described as Iranian claims, CENTCOM said Iran had created the threat, while U.S. forces removed it to protect civilian sailors and commercial shipping and to safeguard the freedom of global trade through the Strait of Hormuz.
