Trump Announces Suspension of Arms Sales to Allies Until U.S. Military Stockpiles Are Replenished

S. President Donald Trump has announced a temporary suspension of arms sales to Washington’s allies until the United States completes the replenishment of its military stockpiles, stressing that the country needs to retain ammunition to meet its own defense requirements.

In a recent television interview, Trump said the United States is now keeping ammunition for its own use, adding that arms sales to allies would resume once American military reserves have been fully replenished.

Trump blamed former President Joe Biden for the depletion of U.S. weapons stockpiles, accusing his administration of providing Ukraine with massive quantities of military equipment and ammunition free of charge.

Commenting on the ammunition shortage, Trump said the situation was not the result of his administration’s approach to Iran, but rather Biden’s policy toward Ukraine, holding the previous administration responsible for the decline in U.S. military reserves.
