Tourists Flock to Ancient Babylon Amid Cultural and Arts Festival
Ancient Babylon in Babil Governorate has witnessed an influx of Iraqi and foreign tourists taking advantage of the milder weather and falling temperatures at the start of the seasonal transition to explore the historic site and discover the legacy of the ancient Babylonian civilization.
The growing visitor turnout coincides with the Babylon Festival of Cultures and Arts, organized by Iraq’s Ministry of Culture at the tourist resort within the archaeological city. The event has attracted large numbers of families from Babil and neighboring governorates.
Visitors toured several prominent landmarks, including the Ishtar Gate, the Southern and Northern Palaces, the Lion of Babylon, and the Processional Street. Many took commemorative photographs while enjoying the historic surroundings.
The moderate weather has created favorable conditions for sightseeing and family outings, giving visitors more opportunities to explore Babylon’s archaeological treasures and appreciate the cultural heritage that reflects the city’s significance in ancient history.
