Saudi Arabia Aims to Restore East-West Pipeline to Full Capacity Within Six Weeks

Saudi Arabia is seeking to restore the damaged East-West pipeline to its full export capacity within approximately six weeks, according to Bloomberg, citing an informed source.

The source said Saudi Aramco is working to bypass the damaged section of the pipeline, allowing part of its capacity to resume operations initially.

Bloomberg reported that traders are closely monitoring the timeline for the pipeline’s restart and the volume of crude it will be able to transport for export, after the route became a vital oil corridor during the war.

To offset part of the disrupted supplies, Aramco has increased crude sales from ports outside the Strait of Hormuz. The company has sold around 20 million barrels to Asian refineries, including facilities in China. Meanwhile, European customers are facing delays in deliveries, contributing to higher crude oil prices.
