Salah al-Din Criminal Court Sentences Six Convicts to 15 Years in Prison for Misappropriating Public Funds
The Salah al-Din Criminal Court on Sunday sentenced six convicts to 15 years in prison each for unlawfully seizing funds allocated to public service projects in the province.
According to a statement from the Supreme Judicial Council, the defendants misappropriated funds designated for the rehabilitation and maintenance of electrical installations, cleaning government offices, and an estimated cost assessment related to the supply of materials for a 400-kilovolt power line.
The statement added that the sentences were issued under Article 316, first paragraph, of Iraqi Penal Code No. 111 of 1969, in conjunction with Articles 47, 48, and 49 concerning participation in criminal offenses
