Russia and Ukraine Escalate Air Attacks as Both Sides Report Drone Interceptions

Russia’s Defense Ministry said its forces carried out a large-scale attack targeting Ukrainian industrial facilities, port-related infrastructure and a strategic transport facility in Odesa.

Meanwhile, Ukraine’s Defense Ministry said its forces intercepted eight missiles and more than 100 Russian drones, reporting that the strikes killed three civilians and injured 15 others in the Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

Separately, Russia’s TASS news agency quoted the Defense Ministry as saying that Russian air defenses shot down 230 Ukrainian drones overnight during attacks targeting several areas across the country.

The developments come amid a renewed escalation in aerial attacks between Moscow and Kyiv, with Ukraine intensifying its use of drones against critical infrastructure inside Russia, while Moscow said its air-defense systems successfully repelled the attacks without major damage.
