Reports Emerge of Iranian Oil Tanker Being Targeted Near Kharg Island

Iranian media reported hearing explosions near Kharg Island, before maritime sources said a small Iranian oil tanker had come under a missile attack.

The Fars news agency reported that the tanker was targeted by missiles launched by U.S. forces approximately six miles from the island. Other Iranian reports said the vessel was hit by four projectiles.

The U.S. Central Command has not issued a statement confirming or denying the reported attack on an Iranian tanker near Kharg Island.
