Private Generator Owners in Kut Halt Operations Over Fuel Shortage

Owners of commercial private generators in Kut city shut down their generators completely today in protest against a shortage of gas oil (kerosene) and a surge in the price of a barrel to 250,000 Iraqi dinars.

The generator owners said the shortage and rising fuel costs have increased operating expenses, calling on the relevant authorities to provide gas oil at reasonable prices and ensure adequate supplies to keep the generators operating and maintain electricity services for residents.
