Oman Postpones Salalah Meeting on Strait of Hormuz Navigation

The Sultanate of Oman announced the postponement of a regional meeting scheduled for Monday in Salalah, which was aimed at reaching an interim agreement with Iran on managing maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

Omani Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi said the decision was made to preserve consensus and agreement among the participating parties, stressing Muscat’s continued commitment to dialogue and efforts to promote regional stability.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry, meanwhile, said the meeting was postponed to a later date at the request of several regional countries and following a joint decision by Oman and Iran.
