Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani issued a regional decree on Wednesday promoting 519 officers from the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces, which operates under the Ministry of Interior.

In a statement, the Kurdistan Region Presidency announced that the decree—issued in accordance with the Kurdistan Region Presidency Law and applicable legislation—grants the officers their respective ranks based on legal entitlement. The decision takes effect and is to be implemented as of its issuance date, September 9.
