Najaf Criminal Court Sentences 11 Convicted Drug Traffickers to Prison and Fines

The Najaf Criminal Court on Tuesday issued prison sentences and financial penalties against 11 defendants convicted of drug trafficking, according to a security source.

The source said the prison terms ranged from six to 10 years, while the total financial fines imposed on the convicts amounted to approximately 100 million Iraqi dinars.

The rulings were issued under Article 28 of Iraq’s Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law No. 50 of 2017, the source added.
