Mohamed Salah Banned from Driving in the UK for Six Months Over Speeding Case

Egyptian football star Mohamed Salah, who plays as a forward for Turkish club Trabzonspor, has had his UK driving licence suspended for six months after failing to identify the driver of a Rolls-Royce registered in his name that was caught speeding.

According to the British newspaper The Sun, the 34-year-old player failed to respond to two court summonses after a mobile speed camera detected the vehicle exceeding the legal speed limit in Wilmslow, Cheshire, in March 2026.

A court in Warrington convicted Salah in his absence for failing to disclose the identity of the person driving the vehicle. He was subsequently handed a six-month driving ban and ordered to pay a fine.

The offence reportedly took place two days after Salah unexpectedly announced his departure from English club Liverpool.

This is not the first time Salah has faced traffic-related issues. In 2022, he was caught driving his Ferrari F8 Tributo above the speed limit and was fined, with three penalty points added to his driving licence. In 2018, he was also spotted using a mobile phone while driving near Liverpool's Anfield stadium, although he was not prosecuted due to insufficient evidence.
