Mehdi Taqi al-Amiri Submits Resignation from Parliament and Badr Organization

Mehdi Taqi al-Amiri, head of the Badr parliamentary bloc and a member of the Iraqi Parliament’s Security and Defense Committee, has submitted his resignation from the Council of Representatives and the Badr Organization, headed by Secretary-General Hadi al-Amiri.

Al-Amiri formally addressed his resignation to the organization’s secretary-general and its members, expressing his respect and appreciation for its leadership and members, while apologizing for any shortcomings, positions, or actions during his period of service.

He described the Badr Organization as an important chapter in his career and expressed pride in the work and positions he shared with its members, stressing that his departure from parliamentary and organizational activities would not affect his respect for the organization’s leadership and members.

The formal procedures for approving the resignation and ending his parliamentary membership still require completion through the relevant legal and institutional channels. No official reason for the resignation has been announced so far.
