KRG Delegation Arrives in Baghdad to Discuss 2027 Federal Budget and Oil Settlement
A high-level delegation from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) arrived in Baghdad on Tuesday evening to hold talks with key federal officials regarding the upcoming 2027 national budget and outstanding financial issues.
The visiting delegation includes the Ministers of Finance and Natural Resources, the Head and Secretary of the KRG Cabinet, the Chief of the Coordination and Follow-up Department, and the Deputy Minister of Planning. Scheduled meetings will cover consultations with the Federal Ministries of Finance, Planning, and Oil.
The primary objective of the visit is to ensure the KRG's direct participation in drafting the 2027 Federal General Budget Law and establishing the region's constitutional financial share. Discussions will cover civil service payrolls, staff allocations, operational and investment spending, regional development funds, and the oil sector, aiming to reach binding agreements that safeguard the Region's financial rights.
