John Travolta Sets Directorial Debut at Cannes with a Childhood-Inspired Feature

The Cannes Film Festival has selected the feature film Propeller One-Way Night Coach to premiere in its "Cannes Premiere" section for the upcoming edition this May.

The film marks the directorial debut of international star John Travolta. It is adapted from his own 1997 illustrated book, which drew inspiration from his lifelong passion for aviation and memories of his very first flight.

Set against a nostalgic backdrop, the drama follows a young boy named Jeff (played by Clark Shotwell) and his mother on a cross-country flight to Hollywood, turning a routine journey into a life-changing, magical experience.

The cast features Travolta's daughter, Ella Bleu Travolta, in the role of a flight attendant, alongside an ensemble cast depicting colorful first-class passengers—aiming to recapture the forgotten glamour of classic air travel.
