Iraq’s Youth and Sports Minister Welcomes Paralympic Athletes After Asian Games Achievement in Japan

Iraqi Youth and Sports Minister Dr. Safaa Al-Kinani welcomed the Iraqi Paralympic Committee delegation at Baghdad International Airport upon its return from the 2026 Asian Para Games in Nagoya, Japan, following a medal-winning campaign.

Al-Kinani praised the athletes for their outstanding performances, determination and commitment, noting that their achievements had brought pride to Iraq and raised the country’s profile at the continental sporting event.

The minister said the success of Iraq’s Paralympic athletes demonstrated their ability to overcome challenges and difficulties. He stressed the importance of maintaining support for the athletes and providing the resources and facilities needed to help them develop their abilities, achieve further success and represent Iraq proudly at international competitions.
