Iraq's SOMO Issues Tender to Import Over 446,000 Tonnes of Fuel Oil via Khor Al-Zubair

Iraq’s state oil marketing company, SOMO, has issued an international tender to purchase fuel oil with a sulfur content capped at 2,500 parts per million (ppm) to support domestic demand in the industrial and transportation sectors.

According to a SOMO document cited by Reuters, the company aims to procure a total of approximately 446,250 metric tonnes of fuel oil. The delivery schedule will span four months, running from September through December, with all shipments designated for discharge at the Khor Al-Zubair port.

The document further specified that the initial delivery—a 40,000-tonne cargo—is scheduled to arrive at the port no later than September 15.
