Iraq’s Ministry of Youth and Sports prepares for Sovereignty Day celebration

Iraq’s Ministry of Youth and Sports reviewed preparations for a celebration marking Iraqi Sovereignty Day during a meeting chaired by Fadel Naji, Director General of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation, with representatives from several relevant departments and sections attending.

The meeting addressed the organizational and technical arrangements for the event, including the distribution of responsibilities among the supporting departments and sections, as well as logistical preparations being followed up by the Department of International Relations and Cooperation to ensure the successful implementation of the planned activities.

Naji said the celebration is part of the ministry’s program to commemorate national occasions, emphasizing that Sovereignty Day represents an important national occasion that reflects the values of independence, belonging and pride in national identity. He stressed the need for coordinated efforts to deliver the event in a manner befitting the occasion.

The celebration is expected to feature a variety of youth, sports and artistic activities, in addition to a documentary film highlighting key stages in Iraq’s sovereignty journey. The program aims to underscore the significance of the national occasion and the ministry’s role in promoting national awareness among young people.
