Iraq's Foreign Minister Meets US Envoy to Discuss Bilateral Ties and Economic Developments

Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein met on Saturday with US Presidential Special Envoy for Iraq and Syria, Ambassador Tom Barrack, in Istanbul, Türkiye, to discuss bilateral relations and regional and economic developments.

The meeting focused on the future of cooperation between Baghdad and Washington following the conclusion of the international coalition forces' mission in Iraq. The two sides also discussed regional conflicts and their implications for security and stability in Iraq and neighboring countries.

The talks further addressed Iraq's financial and economic situation, including developments in the exchange rate of the Iraqi dinar. Both sides stressed the importance of maintaining communication, continuing consultations, and holding joint meetings to strengthen bilateral relations and exchange views on issues of mutual concern.
