Iraqi President Condemns Attacks on Saudi Arabia, Rejects Use of Iraqi Territory for Regional Aggression
Iraqi President Nizar Amedi on Saturday condemned the attacks targeting Saudi Arabia, reaffirming Iraq’s rejection of any use of its territory or airspace as a launching point for attacks against neighboring countries.
In a statement, Amedi stressed that protecting Iraq’s sovereignty and maintaining strong relations with its regional surroundings are the responsibility of the state and its constitutional institutions. He also expressed support for the measures taken by the government following the attacks.
He emphasized the need to complete investigations and take legal action against anyone proven to have been involved or responsible, in order to prevent similar incidents from recurring.
Amedi reaffirmed Iraq’s commitment to strengthening ties with Saudi Arabia and other neighboring countries, while promoting regional security and stability and safeguarding the interests of the region’s peoples, away from actions that could endanger those relations or undermine Iraq’s security and stability.
