Iraqi National Security Service Dismantles Drug Trafficking Network, Arrests 31 in Diwaniyah
Iraq's National Security Service announced on Friday the dismantling of a drug trafficking and distribution network in Diwaniyah province, resulting in the arrest of 31 suspects.
In a statement, the agency said its security teams seized quantities of crystal methamphetamine and narcotic pills, along with equipment used for drug consumption. The total weight of the confiscated substances was estimated at approximately one kilogram.
The agency explained that the operation followed intensive surveillance and intelligence efforts, during which specialized units tracked the suspects' movements and identified their locations before carrying out successive arrests under judicial warrants.
All suspects, along with the seized materials, have been referred to the relevant authorities for further legal and judicial proceedings.
