Iraqi Government: Security Agenda to Feature in Al-Zeidi’s Talks with French Officials
Iraqi government spokesperson Haider Al-Aboudi said on Monday that security issues will be among several key topics discussed by Prime Minister Ali Falih Al-Zeidi with French officials during his visit to France.
Al-Aboudi said the security agenda would be on the negotiating table, noting that Iraq is approaching September 30, which he described as an important sovereign milestone closely followed by Iraqis.
He added that Iraq is preparing a framework for security understanding and cooperation with several countries, stressing that the outcomes of these arrangements will serve the interests of the Iraqi state.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Ali Falih Al-Zeidi met French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace, where the two sides are expected to hold talks on several issues and sign a number of memoranda of understanding across various sectors.
