Iraqi Finance Ministry Includes Permanent Employment for Contract Workers in 2027 Budget Draft
Iraqi Finance Minister Faleh Sari announced on Sunday that a provision to permanently employ contract workers would be included in the draft federal budget for 2027.
Speaking during a meeting of the Supreme Committee for Budget Preparation, Sari said the cases of contract workers and daily wage employees had been incorporated into the budget proposal following extensive work by the ministry’s relevant departments.
The process involved verifying the number of eligible workers and their records, calculating the financial costs of their permanent employment, and securing the necessary budget allocations.
The minister said the ministry had handled the issue with a high level of responsibility and completed its financial and technical requirements, adding that the inclusion of the file in the budget draft marked a shift from demands to formal government procedures.
