Iraqi Authorities Arrest Najaf Real Estate Registrar Over Illegal Land Sales and Cemetery Tampering

Security forces in Najaf have arrested Amer Al-Muhanna, head of the Al-Manathera Real Estate Registration Office, following a judicial warrant issued by the Integrity Commission. The arrest came after investigations uncovered forged records and illegal transactions involving state-owned lands. According to judicial and local sources, the suspect manipulated official files to facilitate unlawful sales, which notably included lands belonging to a private historical cemetery over a century old.
