Iraq ranks second among India’s crude oil suppliers in September

Iraq ranked as India’s second-largest supplier of crude oil in September, as Iraqi shipments to the Indian market rose significantly compared with the previous month.

Data from oil-tracking firm Kpler, cited by Business Standard, showed that India imported around 579,000 barrels per day of Iraqi crude between September 1 and 27. Russia remained the leading supplier with 1.742 million barrels per day.

Saudi Arabia ranked third with 570,000 barrels per day, followed by the United Arab Emirates with 483,000 barrels per day and Kuwait with 333,000 barrels per day.

India’s total crude oil imports averaged 5.251 million barrels per day during the first 27 days of September, up 13% from the August average of 4.654 million barrels per day.

Iraqi crude imports stood at around 163,000 barrels per day in August, indicating an increase of approximately 416,000 barrels per day in September
