Iraq and Syria Hold Trade Talks to Boost Economic Ties and Export Iraqi Cement and Asphalt

The Iraqi Ministry of Trade held official talks with Syrian counterparts to expand economic cooperation and increase trade volume, focusing on opening new markets for Iraqi goods.

Meeting on the sidelines of the 118th session of the Arab League's Economic and Social Council, Iraqi Minister of Trade Mustafa Nizar Ani and Syrian Minister of Economy and Industry Mohammad Nidal al-Shaar reviewed bilateral trade relations and discussed removing obstacles to the flow of goods. Discussions highlighted expanding Iraqi exports to Syria, particularly cement and asphalt, supporting private sector growth and strengthening Iraq's regional trade footprint.
