Iraq and Kuwait Discuss Strengthening Border Security and Information Sharing

Iraq and Kuwait on Thursday discussed measures to strengthen security along their shared border and enhance coordination and information exchange between the two countries.

Iraqi Border Forces Commander Lieutenant General Mohammed Abdul Wahab Sukkar met with his Kuwaiti counterpart, Major General Mujbil Fahad bin Shawq, head of the Border Security and Coast Guard Sector, at a border point on the Kuwaiti side.

The meeting focused on expanding security cooperation, strengthening border protection, improving coordination and information sharing, and addressing a number of issues of mutual interest.

Both sides stressed the importance of maintaining communication and cooperation between the relevant security agencies to support stability along the shared border and advance the common interests of the two countries.
