Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Says Trump Faces Mounting Domestic Pressure Over War

political affairs assistant to the commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said US President Donald Trump is facing mounting pressure over the domestic repercussions of the war on Iran, stressing that the continued state of “neither war nor peace” is imposing costs beyond Iran alone.

Iran’s Tasnim News Agency quoted the official as saying that the United States is bearing substantial economic costs as a result of the naval blockade. He added that disruptions to maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz have intensified pressure on global financial and energy markets, with the effects increasingly visible in the US economy.

The official further claimed that Trump is now facing greater domestic pressure over the consequences of the war than at any previous point. He also reaffirmed Iran’s readiness to respond to any renewed military action, warning that any such move would be met with what he described as a stronger and more decisive Iranian response.
