High-Level Security Meeting Between Federal Commanders and Peshmerga Delegation Focuses on Border Security and Intelligence Sharing

The Director of the Commander-in-Chief’s Office, General Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, chaired an extensive security meeting in Baghdad with senior federal military commanders and a high-level delegation from the Kurdistan Regional Government's Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs.

The discussions—attended by heads of Counter-Terrorism, Border Ports, Intelligence, and National Security agencies alongside the Peshmerga Chief of Staff—centered on enhancing field coordination and joint military operations between federal and regional forces. Key priorities included securing international borders to curb smuggling and illegal crossings, dismantling drug trafficking networks, expanding intelligence exchange through joint coordination centers, conducting combined military exercises, and extraditing wanted individuals to the judiciary.
