Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defense announced on Friday that three missile launch platforms belonging to Yemen’s Houthi group had been destroyed, warning that attacks targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure would be met with a firm response.

Ministry spokesperson Major General Turki Al-Maliki said the platforms were targeted because they had been used by the Houthi group to threaten regional security. He stressed that Saudi Arabia’s armed forces would continue taking the necessary measures to protect the Kingdom’s security and territorial integrity.

The announcement follows a statement from the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation reporting that three Saudi citizens were killed and several citizens and residents of different nationalities were injured in two attacks targeting facilities at King Khalid International Airport and a Saudi Airlines aircraft. The incidents also caused material damage.

The authority said the injuries ranged from minor to serious and that those affected were immediately transferred to hospitals for medical treatment. Emergency response teams and security agencies also moved to address the incidents and contain their consequences in accordance with established procedures.

The authority further confirmed that airport operations had resumed and air traffic had returned to normal, while damage assessments continued alongside enhanced security measures to safeguard passengers and airport personnel.
