Gold Prices Edge Higher as U.S. Treasury Yields Decline

Gold prices edged higher in Tuesday’s trading, supported by a decline in U.S. Treasury yields, while expectations that interest rates will remain elevated continued to limit gains in the precious metal.

Spot gold rose 0.3% to $4,357.31 per ounce, while U.S. gold futures for December delivery gained 0.3% to reach $4,395 per ounce.

Meanwhile, yields on 10-year U.S. Treasury notes fell for the second consecutive session, providing some support to gold prices.

Among other precious metals, spot silver increased 0.7% to $66.48 per ounce. Platinum gained 0.8% to $1,811.28, while palladium advanced 0.7% to $1,309.78 per ounce.
