Gang Selling Counterfeit US Dollars Arrested in Najaf

A joint security force from the Babylon Intelligence and Security Directorate and the Babylon Organized Crime Directorate arrested a gang allegedly involved in selling counterfeit US dollars in Najaf Governorate.

Colonel Yasser Salim Watout, head of the Organized Crime Combat Office in Babylon, said the force successfully lured the suspects, tracked them down, and arrested them in the act. Large quantities of counterfeit currency, along with stamps used in printing the fake banknotes, were discovered concealed inside a house in Najaf.

Watout added that the suspects were handed over to the relevant authorities for investigation, while the seized materials were placed in custody in accordance with legal procedures.
