Four Illegal Metal Smelting Sites Shut Down in Baghdad

mniraq - Environmental authorities announced the removal of four illegal metal smelting sites in the Nahrawan, 9 Nissan, and Ali Al-Wardi areas, due to their use of heavy fuel oil furnaces in direct violation of environmental regulations. Officials stated that the campaign was carried out with the participation of security and regulatory bodies, using specialized machinery to permanently dismantle the non-compliant sites. Authorities confirmed the continuation of inspection campaigns to monitor polluting activities and take strict legal measures against violators, aiming to curb harmful emissions, regulate industrial activities, improve environmental conditions, and protect residential areas from pollution.
