Erbil Traffic Directorate Releases Guidelines and Fees for Vehicle Window Tinting

The Erbil Traffic Directorate has announced new regulations and annual fees for vehicle window tinting, with costs reaching up to one million Iraqi dinars depending on the tint percentage. The rules apply to private vehicles, taxis, and trucks, including vehicles registered outside the Kurdistan Region provided the owner resides in the region. Taxis and buses are capped at a maximum tint level of 50% with a total ban on rear window tinting for safety, while front windshield tinting remains strictly prohibited across all vehicle types. Fees range from free for factory-tinted glass between 0% and 30%, up to 1 million dinars for tinting exceeding 80%, with licenses renewable annually or biennially.
