Denies Plans to Borrow 16 Trillion Dinars from Foreign Countries
The Iraqi government has denied reports claiming it intends to borrow 16 trillion dinars from five countries, including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, China, Germany and France, to cover the state budget deficit.
Government spokesperson Haider Al-Aboudi described the reports as inaccurate, stressing that Iraq's fiscal policy relies on domestic revenues, particularly oil export earnings, to meet public spending commitments without resorting to foreign borrowing.
